"Now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three: but the
greatest of these is charity."

Is God Calling You?
|
|
"And the Lord said, I have
surely seen the affliction of my people which are in
Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their
taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come
down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians,
and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land
and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey;
unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and
the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and
the Jebusites. And Moses said unto God, 'Who am I that I
should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth
the children out of Egypt?" |

Have you ever felt that your
life has little meaning aside from no value?
Have you every felt insignificant and that you,
as an individual, really didn't matter much?
Undoubtedly, every one has felt that way at some
point or another in their lives. The good news
is, however, that all of our lives have meaning
and are valuable. Jesus said, "But
the very hairs of your head are all numbered."
(St. Matthew 10:30).

Looking at the Biblical biography of Moses,
Yahweh's servant, he was a very valuable
individual . Born during a time of intense
political and social oppression of his race,
Moses came into the world for such a time. His
life was spared during a national genocide in
Egypt and God saw that he survive it.
Lavished in the trainings and lifestyle of the
Egyptians, God had a great plan for Moses' life.
Although he enthusiastically attempted to fulfill his
purpose (by killing an Egyptian), before being called,
Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness tending to his
father-in-law's sheep. Howbeit, he was at the right
place; at the right time to hear the voice of God and to
give assent to his calling. God summoned Moses, right
where he was, and commissioned him to "Tell
Pharaoh to let my people go."
The Bible records that there was a time when a pharaoh
rose up that didn't know Joseph, the former gifted and
talented Hebrew administrator of Egypt. This king of
Egypt was incensed because of the multiplication and
might of the children of Israel. In his rage, he sought
to destroy all the males born to the Israelite women.
Pharaoh knew that if he could kill and thwart God's seed
that Egypt could stay in the lead. But how could God
keep silence in the tantara that His people faced in
midst of idolatry and political and social oppression in
Egypt? God heard their cry and sent "a survivor" to
Pharaoh to insure His peoples' deliverance from Egyptian
bondage.

Have you ever wondered why you've survived all the
turmoil and trials that you've experienced in life? Have
you ever felt that God kept, preserved and spared you
for a reason and a season? Well, my friend, God has a
purpose and a plan for your life! God wants to turn your
misery into a ministry; and the day that you hear His
voice harden, not your heart.
Today, I'd like to encourage you to listen for the voice
of God. Allow Him to grasp your attention just like He
did with Moses by the burning bush. God will reveal to
you what He is feeling for others; and tell you His
purpose in the midst of any and every circumstance. He
will tell you your role in the plan of deliverance and
salvation; and give you a charge so that it can be
fulfilled. Is He (God) calling you? |
